So NaNoWriMo is next month.
Stuff has been happening all month in preparations for it. I haven’t been able to go to anything awesome for it, however. Not until tonight. And it was so much fun. Met a bunch of cool other writers. Had some fun (the icebreaker was a game, and I was too shy to do more than my part, I must admit, though), and had some good food.
I also managed to think a little more about my book, and get some cool ideas flowing about my novel. I got a lot of motivation to get into this novel. And the best part? I finally named my main character! I’ve known her personality and physical appearance and everything for a while now, but I kept switching between names. This or that or maybe even this.
Honestly, I wasn’t even looking for a name, but somehow it came to names in conversation.
Now, I introduce my main character as Elizabeth Carter. She goes by Beth.
I really like it. I think it fits her well. Time to polish up on some outlines, and then do some warmup writing to get ready for NaNo. I need to get into a good daily writing habit. I need to sit down and write at least a couple hundred words everyday regularly.
Here’s to hoping the 1.6k words a day for NaNo can bump that into existence!
Oh yeah. And just as a side note – I’m going to try to write in a Halloween contest and see where that goes. Just for fun, and to get my mind into gear. Wish me luck!
That's all for now, and I'll keep you guys updated!~
Thanks for reading!
